Carrie Leighow is a Midwest girl that graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1998 in Kansas City, MO. She practiced as a Registered Nurse in medical/ surgical and CV-ICU nursing for 9 years. Traveling to 6 states and many locations including trauma centers and small community hospitals.
She obtained her nurse anesthesia degree from Mount Marty College in Sioux Falls, SD in 2010 with a Master’s in Science. Her clinical sites involved many Nebraska and Iowa hospitals including all patient populations Pediatrics, OB, Regional Anesthesia and Trauma. She has been fortunate to practice anesthesia in 5 states and on a Haitian mission trip. Her practice of medicine in many locations has continued to foster adaptability and focusing on the patient’s care.
Growing up in a business minded family, she quickly realized she was destined to run her own business. In 2015, Carrie left the main stream Anesthesia comfort-zone and started her own company. She now has two companies, Leighow Anesthesia & Medical Aesthetics and Capital Anesthesia Consultants. These two companies provide care for 7 surgery centers in the Omaha, Fremont and Lincoln areas. She is a member of the Ophthalmic Anesthesia Society and Anesthesia Business Academy.
Carrie has four children; Lauren, Audrey, Grant & Nico. She is active in her church and sits on the Spring For The Children live auction committee for the last 7 years. She enjoys reading and traveling with friends and family.
